History of Gulf Oil

With a rich heritage spanning over a century, the Gulf Oil brand is recognised all over the world and is trusted by millions of people since 1901. Gulf Oil began its journey with the discovery of oil in Gulf Of Mexico, Texas, USA by selling Gasoline in containers. In year 1910, Gulf Oil launched first ever offshore drilling operation.

In year 1913, with the launch of the first-ever branded petrol station in Pittsburgh, USA. We have paved the way into the fuel retail sector ever since. Pioneering innovations, breakthrough technologies, high quality products and services, our endeavours towards excellence led to the development and expansion of more sites.

We branded ourselves with the distinctive orange disc which still remains a part of the Gulf Oil logo to this day as a symbol of our excellence. The instantly recognisable orange disc is now synonymous around the world with high quality products, innovation and technical excellence.

During the 1960s, the Gulf Oil brand initiated high profile marketing campaigns, including the sponsorship of the Apollo moon landings. Not many brands can boast about going to the moon and back. In fact, we still reach for the stars with high profile partnerships today. Gulf Oil enjoys partnerships with several renowned brands and esteemed associations globally.

Gulf Oil has established its presence in over 25 countries for both fuel retailing and lubricants with footprint in more than 100 countries. We provide high quality products and services to our clients by focusing on our core values of Quality, Endurance and Passion.
